Throughout the ages men and women have wanted to make themselves attractive, preserve the freshness of their youth, and even to turn back time. The signs of aging in the face and neck are based on a trilogy : sagging, wrinkles and atrophy.
Sagging in the neck occurs through loss of elasticity, manifests as loss of elasticity, and manifests as loss of tension and tone of the different components: skin, subcutaneous fat, aponeurosis and muscle.
Signs of Aging in the Neck:
- sagging skin, ptosis of the musculocutaneous integument
- loss of definition of the cervicomental angle with laxity
- arthropy
- horizontal cervical wrinkles
- platysma bands.
Injections with botulinum toxin are completely ineffective in patients presenting with cervical sagging and cutaneous ptosis.
Platysma bands:
This is certainly the best indication at the neck of botulinum toxin. Relaxation of the muscle fibers of the platysma bands enables their reduction or even dissapierance, as they no longer congregate in bands, barring the neck vertically, but contrary, integrate with relief and the slope of the neck, softening the cervical line.
Indications are:
Neck with sagging but with new marked bands, whether at rest or with movement.
Another excellent indication is as a complement to a facelift.
